Job description

The Legal Counsel is a confident and forward-thinking attorney with the ability to provide practical legal advice with respect to all aspects of Red Bull’s entertainment-related marketing and media partnerships within the United States. This position will be responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions, content acquisition and distribution agreements and platform distribution agreements. This position will work closely with Red Bull’s media and marketing legal team, IP/brand enforcement and regulatory legal teams and interface directly on a daily basis with a broad range of client teams including Brand Partnerships, Content Partnerships, Audience Partnerships and eSports.

·  Brand Partnerships

Provide legal support for all Brand Partnership activities in the US, includes drafting, negotiating and advising on sport, music, culture and eSport initiatives which involve revenue-generating sponsorships, ad sales, vendor arrangements, IP licenses, product placement/brand integrations and custom content creation.

Structure, draft and negotiate complex commercial transactions in the area of partnership and advertising agreements and providing legal advisory support for execution of brand partnerships while minimizing business risk.

Advisory support on data policies

 

·  Content Partnership and Content Distribution Agreements

Provide legal support for content/rights acquisition for sports & culture events/content.

Draft and negotiate content distribution agreements for existing Red Bull content to be distributed through third party channels (e.g. Netflix, NBC, FOX).

Ensure internal parties have checked and obtained appropriate rights and availability windows for content acquisition and distribution deals.

Provide legal support for Audience & Platform Partnership activities in the US, including drafting, negotiating and advising on complex digital distribution agreements with partners (such as YouTube, Twitch, etc) where Red Bull has content distribution channels.

 

·  Compliance & Regulatory

Counsel on compliance with third party contractual requirements, US and global rules and regulations in the areas of intellectual property, ad sales, product integration, and data, including FTC compliance (endorsement and native advertising guidelines) and other marketing and advertising regulatory compliance related to content distribution.

Work closely with operations teams within both legal and client groups to ensure that compliance matters are followed and workflows established to minimize business risk and promote efficiency.

Support compliance and regulatory efforts with respect to US and global content distribution

Your experience includes:

Approximately 3-5 years of experience of combined in-house and/or law firm experience in consumer product marketing, entertainment and/or media/advertising agency.

· 
Exceptional communication skills, analytical ability and willingness to learn and grow.

· 
Self-starter (and self-stopper) with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a high volume, fast-paced environment. That means an ability to work efficiently and with minimal supervision; an ability to meet demanding deadlines without sacrificing the quality of work product; excellent multitasking and organizational skills and; an understanding of when to stop and ask for help.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both business and creative personnel .

Proven Team player able to work collaboratively in global work environment.

Excellent problem-solving skills and pragmatic judgment.

· 
Ability to prioritize dynamic workload and effectively meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· 
High degree of flexibility and availability to travel as needed.

· 
Familiarity with international transactions in media and/or technology a plus.

Juris Doctor (J.D.), California Bar Member

· 

Fluent in English
