Undergraduate placement
These eleven-month placements are for students who need to complete a placement as part of their degree. You’ll work alongside graduate trainees and experienced professionals on everyday projects. So you’ll get a good insight into working life at PwC.
Internal Firm Services
Internal Firm Services business area is responsible for providing generalist HC support across our business which is comprised of over 17,000 UK employees across 35 offices. The HC team acts as a liaison, advisor and facilitator between the business and specialist HC support teams, allowing PwC to operate effectively to meet its people agenda.
Global Mobility – Immigration Team
Immigration rules and Brexit are high on the political agenda, making UK Immigration a fast paced, ever changing environment, with laws becoming increasingly restrictive. The firms Immigration Team play a pivotal role across the firm, ensuring the firm’s obligations with respect to UK immigration laws are met whilst supporting the firm’s strategic mobility and resourcing objectives.
There are three members of the Immigration team which is part of the wider Global Mobility team which is 18 strong. This is a varied and technical HC role which has key responsibilities which support the team in the reporting and management of sponsor obligations and involves a great degree of project management. This is an exciting role with opportunity to develop technical knowledge and skills in the field and work closely with a range of stakeholder groups in HC and our Legal team to embed and improve immigration processes. We expect the placement to be challenging, exciting, fast paced and most of all rewarding.
Responsibilities

Provision of regular and ad-hoc reports to ensure the firm meets its reporting duties and responsibilities as a sponsor Licence holder reporting requisite data to the Home Office

Adhere to Immigration processes and controls, spotting opportunities for efficiencies and simplification
·
Work with various teams in HC and legal to ensure processes and procedures support the accurate reporting to the Home Office of joiners, changes and leavers
·
Ensure employees personal records are accurately recorded and maintained
·
Facilitate a fully effective process for the validation of eligibility to work documents for all new joiners to the UK firm
·
Provide routine guidance to HC colleagues on immigration processes and legislation

What you need to get in

You’ll need to be on course for a 2.1 degree or above in any subject

You’ll need to be on four-year degree programme that features a sandwich placement element
You must be able to demonstrate the following
·
Excellent administrative skills with the ability to identify inconsistencies in data with a strong attention to detail
·
IT proficient with excellent Excel skills in order to prepare regular reports that will be shared with a variety of stakeholders
·
Confidence to ask questions and challenge ideas
·
Ability to proactively manage own time, prioritise and maintain motivation when faced with large numbers of tasks
·
Able to work cohesively in a team and on individual projects
·
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – you must be able to flex your style to engage and communicate with a variety of different stakeholders
·
A practical and sensible approach to problem solving
·
Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment in meeting objectives
