The Job:

The Re:Sources Legal Department seeks a talented, self-starting, business-oriented Paralegal to join its team in Birmingham, MI! The individual hired into this role will focus on legal/regulatory compliance matters relating to advertising/marketing services and materials produced by Publicis.Sapient, a digital transformation platform that is part of Publicis Groupe, for its clients. Publicis Groupe is the third largest advertising network in the world.

What's involved?

 

·  Review proposed advertising and marketing materials for compliance with defined standards
·  Work with lawyers, account teams, and others to ensure complete accuracy of final advertising and marketing materials, and ensure that proper backup for claim substantiation has been conducted, analyzed and cataloged
·  Manage communications with internal and client advertising compliance reviewers
·  Ensure that appropriate clearances have been obtained for third party materials included in advertising and marketing materials provided to client
·  Assist the Legal Department in developing and maintaining scalable, collaborative and effective compliance processes
·  Work with other members of the Legal Department on compliance and other matters as required
·  Work with regulatory and enforcement agencies as required
·  Provide rapid, practical, business-oriented compliance advice to the business
·  Apply innovative problem-solving skills and practical business judgment to manage risk appropriately

 

This position is available immediately. The ideal candidate will have experience working in – and must thrive on – a fast-paced, fluid and collaborative corporate culture. Demonstrated success working in a high-performing, business results-driven legal team and directly advising clients is also a must. Occasional travel within the U.S. and Canada may be required.

 

This person will be based with the agency’s local legal team, working as part of a three-person compliance team and interacting primarily with business and creative groups within the agency and its client. The Paralegal will report to a lawyer on the legal team.

 

 

What are the core competencies?

 

Education:



·  Bachelor's Degree

 

Experience:

 

·  Minimum of three years of related experience in advertising compliance in an advertising agency, advertising client or law firm (experience in a multinational company preferred)
·  Familiarity with US federal and state advertising standards
·  Experience with rights clearance and related IP matters, including talent, music and media

·  Ability to carry out all required activities with attorney oversight to ensure complete compliance of advertising and marketing materials with applicable standards
·  Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively within a globally-distributed team and fast-paced business environment
·  Demonstrated ability to think and decide quickly, and to communicate issues and solutions clearly and concisely
·  Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a clear and concise drafting style and excellent public presentation skills
·  Detail-oriented with an analytical mind
·  Capable of managing a variety of projects simultaneously, yet flexible in meeting/handling multiple and changing priorities
·  Team player
