PhD Intern for Surface Modification

P&G is seeking a surface scientist for a PhD internship role. The key objective of this role is the development of surface modification strategies that modulate soil and biomaterial interactions with surfaces. The candidate will:

Develop mechanistic understanding of key anti-fouling surface coating technologies. Evaluate selected technologies and demonstrate repellency of soils, particles, and microorganisms. Review findings with key stakeholders to impact technology development and IP strategy



We are looking for a candidate who is currently pursuing a PhD in physical chemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, biophysics, or related field.

Additional qualifications include:

·  Experienced in surface and interface science, surface modification, surface analysis, surface energy, wettability, and/or colloid & polymer science

·  Demonstrated ability to work independently, formulate hypotheses, develop test plans, problem solve, and analyze/interpret data

·  Excellent written and oral communication skills, and documents work in electronic laboratory notebooks and written reports

·  Is comfortable with the uncertainty of an upstream R&D environment

·  Has strong interpersonal and collaboration skills          

Just So You Know:

Pay Range: $55-$61 /hr
