We are looking for an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to make an impact across our two sites in Newcastle. The role has broad responsibilities, all designed to protect employee health and safety and wellbeing. The role will be split with three days per week as the Occupational Health Nurse for our Cobalt Park Site and the remaining 2 days of the working week completing the Health Surveillance Program at our Innovation Centre in Longbenton. In this role you will also be part of a supportive wider campus HR team, a network of other OH Nurses in the UK and the P&G global medical practice to deliver world class OH services to your organisations.

Key responsibilities:

Site Occupational Health Responsibilities (Cobalt Park)

· 
Sickness Absence Case Load: advising management on employee’s health and fitness for work. Recommending adjustments for safe working environments as well as creating comprehensive OH reports and phased return to work plans.

· 
Case Management: regularly review the site absence data with HR, look at trends and agree required interventions. Work in close liaison with the O/Health Physician for the site on complex cases

Fitness for Work: assess and issue Fitness for Work certificates. Undertake workplace assessment for individual employees in respect of workstations and ergonomics related to working practices.

Health Promotion and Wellbeing: assist Cobalt site in promoting the Vibrant Living employee wellness programme by working with a wider team to provide regular health promotions and develop engaging health awareness initiatives. Conduct voluntary health screening for employees, for example BMI, blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol.

Health Systems Management: ensure compliance with Medical Health Systems Key Elements audit program including preparing documentation for audit. Maintain data in the Global Occupational Health databases and provide annual reports.

· 
Other Site Responsibilities: provide vaccination advice and immunisation where needed. Assist onsite first aider network. Ensure medical equipment is checked regularly and ensuring adequate supplies for OH activities are available. Attend clinical conferences when required.

Health Surveillance (Longbenton): Provide relevant health surveillance 2 days per week to employees working at the Newcastle Innovation Centre including assessment on Forklift Truck, skin, and spirometry, as well specialist enzyme exposure.

Qualifications

What we are looking for :

A Registered General Nurse Level 1 with current UK NMC registration.

Occupational Health qualification /Registered Specialist Comm Public Health Nurse desirable but those with proven experience in Occupational Health may also apply.

Health surveillance experience in specific areas of Spirometry, Vision screening, Skin Surveillance and FLT medicals.

Commitment and drive to make a difference and be able to work equally well independently or as part of a larger team.

Great communication is essential, with proficiency in the English language being a mandatory requirement.

You will need to be comfortable using a PC and basic Microsoft programmes such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel with good digital and IT skills being preferential.
