Procter & Gamble has an immediate need in South Boston for E&I (Electrical Control & Instrumentation) Apprentice Technicians. The South Boston P&G site is a global Blades and Razors development site which houses engineering, R&D and manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience and troubleshooting proficiency or formal education with at least one of the following equipment or tools :

·  Motion Control Systems - hardware and software
·  Operator Interface Systems - hardware and software
·  Electrical Design Implementation - codes and standards
·  Online Vision Systems
·  Offline Gauging Systems
·  Networks
·  Sensors and Detectors
·  PC based operating system and hardware experience
·  Electrical code requirements for domestic, international and global applications (NEC, NFPA, OSHA, IEC, CE, etc.)
·  Have experience with controls/automation and associated electrical skills/knowledge
·  Experience or education in blades and razor manufacturing processes is preferred.

E&I Apprentice Technicians do various types of work under minimal supervision including, troubleshooting and maintaining electrical control systems, process control systems, instrumentation, and operator interface terminals for large scale manufacturing. These systems contain multiple PLCs, Servos, HMIs, Instruments and Inspection systems. E&I Apprentice Technicians are responsible for keeping production flowing, meeting performance goals and maintaining the high level of quality that consumers expect from our products. Technicians are expected to get involved, take charge of situations and confront business-related problems.

In order to perform the work described above in our manufacturing atmosphere, plant technicians use basic hand and power tools; lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms; twist, turn and bend; enter confined spaces; and stand on concrete floors for an extended period of time. Further, technicians have and are able to display skills in manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining and cleaning automated equipment; maintaining accurate records and data; strong technical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and knowledge of computers. Additionally, the safety of Technicians is of great importance to Procter & Gamble. Technicians will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment, such as safety shoes, ear protection, eye protection and arc flash protection.

The South Boston Procter & Gamble Plant operates 7-days per week. Technicians work any day of the week, including weekends. Work on weekends may be as overtime or as part of the Technician's normal schedule. Changes in business volume and production requirements can cause the plant to occasionally change the length of work shifts or the rotation schedule. The hours of work vary from 8 to 12 hours per day. Shift rotations vary from working a single straight shift to working two or three rotating shifts. Technicians must be willing to rotate and to work any shift. Additional days could be required to be worked as overtime.

Qualifications

All applicants must:

·  Be 18 years of age or older
·  Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education
·  Wear required safety personal protective equipment
·  Maintain a Massachusetts Journeymen’s License or have education in electronics and/or currently working on documented hours towards a Journeymen’s license
·  Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Massachusetts Journeymen’s License after the completion of the state mandated documented hours
·  Must be able to complete Low Voltage Qualification
