Biosciences - Scientist PhD

We are seeking a highly motivated microbiologist to join the F&HC micro organization, who will drive Microbiology-related innovation and deliver FHC projects by collaborating with key partners (e.g. product design, process, & Corporate Function Organizations) proactively identifying & proposing new opportunities, designing & executing experiments, and ensuring the highest QA/Compliance standards are met. This specific role involves leading the development of new micro capability covering both Anti-biocidal (AB) and product preservation business and performing/overseeing analyses to enable the co-creation of new mechanistic insights and deliver new technologies/products across F&HC. The successful candidate will need to design and execute laboratory-based experiments, develop micro test capability and generate critical insights and R&D solutions that will further grow P&G’s $22+ billion F&HC business.

The successful candidate will initially be responsible for quickly on-boarding, building knowledge of key projects and problem statements, assessing/learning current lab capabilities and independently learning micro method development in support of technology development and platform initiatives. Responsibilities will quickly grow to include in-depth knowledge of FHC products and formulations, serve as Microbiology single point of contact for relevant FHC product platforms and co-create with cross functional partners to drive innovation opportunities (e.g. new methods, new mechanism and new molecules and new models).

Job Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a PhD in Microbiology or related Life Sciences field, with strong Chemistry/Biochemistry background. Mastery of procedures common to microbiology/life sciences researcher, including sterile techniques, serial dilution, plating and other microbial and/or tissue culture-based techniques. Familiarity with molecular biology & formulation chemistry is a plus. Proven passion on automation and digitization (e.g.., experience with modeling, high throughput execution or familiarity with Matlab or Python) is a plus. Track record of innovation: identifying opportunities and leveraging strong scientific/technical skills to develop robust solutions. Proven track record of cross functional, cross regional collaboration is a must. Effective oral/written communication skills are needed, including the ability to document/share insights/observations/results, provide clear/concise technical updates/presentations and proactively join/work with project teams and manage/promote the work of other talented scientists/researchers. Ability to successfully communicate complex data and clarity of thought on complex issues as well as enroll/influence is a must.
