Procurement Advisor – Supply Chain

Procurement play a key role in enabling Primark to deliver “Amazing Fashion at Amazing Prices” whilst supporting a significant store expansion programme and business transformation. Our team partners with the business to develop strategies to create competitive advantage for the business, with a focus on value creation, innovation and risk management. 
The Procurement Advisor– Supply Chain is an important role working with our Supply Chain function, working across inbound, warehousing and logistics in new and existing markets, with a spend of >£300m. 
Primark supply chain is predominantly based in Islip, Northamptonshire. This role will be partly based from Islip.

What we’re looking for
You’ll have 2-3 years related experience in a Procurement role, with subject matter expertise and market knowledge of Supply Chain.
You’ll have proven ability in collaborating closely with a wide range of key stakeholders from across the business and forge close business relationships while also developing strategic partnerships with key suppliers. You’ll have the ability to meet deadlines and prepare regular reports to share progress and performance and a knowledge of financial, legal, sustainability/CSR and ethical sourcing.
As well as the above, we’re looking for someone who can work in a fast paced organisation, and on top of that, you’ll be curious, enthusiastic and, it goes without saying, super skilled at planning and organisation.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Supply Chain
·  Partner with the Primark Supply Chain team to ensure that we have the right suppliers in place that deliver the right quality at the right price.
·  Develop Category plans for a subset of Inbound, Warehousing or Logistics
·  Represent the category on relevant strategy development and planning forums
·  Identify risks to existing Primark supply lines and mitigate by sourcing alternative supplies.
·  Identify opportunities for costs savings and work with the internal customers to get buy-in to deliver and regularly report against them.
·  Agree and include KPIs/SLAs in contracts, lead/attend review meetings as appropriate.
·  Support Supply Chain as part of store roll expansion programme as Primark enter new countries, from market research, to new supplier identification negotiation and contract implementation.  Compliance and Governance
·  Negotiate contracts with new and existing suppliers, ensuring contract terms achieve benefit to the organisation and govern the long-term relationships
·  Create and distribute guidance on how to purchase items in the categories in scope to internal stakeholders to ensure category strategy is followed     
Contractual and Legal
·  Ensure Primark is adequately legally protected and insured when undertaking all aspects of procurement
·  Put in place contracts, framework and legal agreements for all suppliers in all countries.
·  Ensure legal frameworks and purchase orders are in place for all procurement activity.  
Operational Effectiveness
·  Through category management, establish a robust supplier base that delivers the required quality, cost and service in compliance with Primark Ethical Trade Strategy.
·  Use appropriate technological solutions to ensure efficiency and best use of leverage in new methods e.g.; eRFX, auctions.
·  Maintain a current view of overall category spend, supplier data, market intelligence and best practice  
E-sourcing and Systems
·  Assist in on-going development of E-sourcing strategy to suggest ideas and help drive initiatives to provide better tools and systems for Primark.
·  Ensure compliance to Procurement systems policy, such as contract management systems and P2P  
Complexity – Internal, Spend and Supply Market
·  Primarily partner with medium complexity Manager and Head Of level Primark stakeholders
·  Effectively manage c£100m, a subset of the £300m Supply chain spend
·  Accountability for transport or warehousing sub-category
·  Establish effective relationships with senior supplier personnel of local, regional and global suppliers
