Purpose of role:
· Deliver a first class P&C service to the management team and colleagues at based in Islip for all HR matters – recruitment; induction; payroll; discipline and grievance; development; coaching; reporting and continuous improvement.
· Creating and implementing fantastic communications initiatives and Charity campaigns to enhance colleague engagement and involvement.
· To ensure P&C related matters are managed in line with Company policy and best practice.
· Foster a culture of open, transparent information so that all colleagues and stakeholders are aware of and aligned to Islip Depot and Primark vision and direction Reports to : P&C Business Partner
Key Responsibilities:
· To work in close partnership with Islip’s P&C Business Partner to ensure that the site’s management team receive a first class P&C service.
· Work closely with the management teams to provide support and coaching on all people related matters.
· Develop strong internal communications capability across the site to ensure best in class and deployed to maximum impact.
· Ensure that internal communication channels are utilised and colleagues are fully informed.
· Work with the site Colleague Forum to ensure that two way conversation is encouraged, listened to and action plans implemented
· Support the Management team to develop a culture of High Engagement and produce plans and initiatives to deliver this consistently across all shifts and departments.
· Support line managers to ensure that Primark’s talented colleagues are identified, nurtured and developed. Ensure the line managers are using effective succession planning tools.
· Manage investigations, disciplinary, grievance and other complex employee relation issues to meet best practice requirements.
· Research, design, implement and evaluate new HR processes to meet business needs
· Oversee the payroll and P&C administration function, ensuring that the high standards are maintained.
· Role model of the Company’s ethical standards, professionalism and code of conduct
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
· Support in the implementation and delivery of P & C Projects and initiatives.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
Essential Experience:
· Previous experience working as a HR Advisory role, ideally in a logistics or other industrial environment
· Good working knowledge of UK employment law and the ability to transfer this into practice.
· Knowledge & experience of Payroll and T&A systems
· Experience of working in a unionised environment Skills & Competencies:
· Ability to work collaboratively with the P & C and line management teams
· Ability to mentor, influence and coach line managers, through complex difficult situations.
· Ability to manage a project with deadlines and deliverables.
· Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
· Good Communication skills – written and oral
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to work on own initiative
· Ability to challenge the status quo
· Organisational skills and ability to prioritize.
