Test Bay Engineer, Philips Healthcare (Latham, NY.)

Challenge:

At Philips Latham, we develop and manufacture high performance superconducting MRI magnet systems with programs to continuously improve our products and processes.  We are an engaged team defining and creating the future of MRI magnet technology.  We seek a Development Engineer with MRI system integration, system testing and test bay experience for first-of-kind developments.  You will be a member of an R&D team which is expanding its capability and capacity in test planning and testing of new product designs.  In this role, you will be challenged to create verification test plans, integrate new designs into a test bay environment, contribute directly to testing and manage the scheduling of test bay utilization.   You will operate within an inspiring technology and product development environment, with a heavy emphasis on cross-functional and international team collaboration.

Your Responsibilities:         

·  Review product design requirements/specifications for testability aspects.
·  Lead integration of new magnet systems and related components for first-pass integration on magnet level and on MRI system level in a test bay environment.
·  Planning and technical oversight of day-to-day and long range utilization of test bay assets and equipment.
·  Develop test methods for magnet systems and for integration of magnet systems on MRI system level.
·  Create verification test plans for new magnet systems and for applicable test elements for first-pass integration testing of new magnet systems on MRI system level.
·  Execute magnet and system integration testing and create associated test reports.
·  Support reliability testing on component and on magnet system level.
·  Occasional travel to other Philips sites to support first-pass installation, integration and testing activities.

Requirements:

·  B.S in Engineering, Physics or like technical/engineering discipline.
·  Experience in technical complex-product integration and testing methods.
·  Experience in a MRI system product development environment.
·  Direct/hands-on experience in integration and testing of MRI magnets and MRI systems.
·  Experience in formal processes of creation and alignment of verification test plans and testing methods to product requirements/specifications.
·  Experience in use of electrical test equipment common to laboratory and system testing.
·  Exceptional technical report writing and technical troubleshooting skills.
·  Familiarity with UL/IEC standards as applicable to MRI is a plus.
