Your Role

In this unique role you will participate in the full product life cycle, from listening and reacting to customer feedback on the products we launch and cycling that information back into our next product updates. This is an ideal role for candidates who are passionate about turning the voice of customer into customer satisfaction and want to branch out to do more than a software engineer by leading the investigation of VOC that require root cause analysis, work with the service Level-3 team for escalations that require software engineering domain expertise, and research and provide a solution together with the rest of the field action team for issues requiring a technical solution to improve customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities:
• Develops product software—requirements, design, implementation, tests, troubleshooting
• Experienced and competent in the domain, able to work independently
• Participate in investigations into customer feedback in role’s designated areas
• Participating as a member in the determination if a change to systems in the field is necessary based on customer feedback
• Contribute in designated areas when a Field Action Team makes a release to improve customer satisfaction
• Field Action Team software engineers are responsible for the software that controls the timing, motion, and user interfaces of the CT and AMI systems.
• Ensures that appropriate Software plans are made that include all stages of the software life cycle and supports Software Plan design
• Validates key software design inputs like: usability, reliability, performance, supportability, manufacturability, localizability, safety, security, privacy, serviceability, sustainability and costs
• Provides effective oversight of: the execution of the Software Plan and any Risk Management activities, and of all design related activities during the software lifecycle
• Can lead quality related problem solving for software
• Use post-market analytics and statistics to report on software performance in the field (provide feedback to manufacturing, suppliers or design teams) and initiate field actions when required
• Act as a single point of contact (person assigned to project team) responsible to ensure that software design quality related requirements/criteria are completed and meet SW Quality standards for every PRP milestone

Your Requirements:
• Education: B.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical degree, or equivalent professional software engineering experience
• 3+  years of professional software engineering experience a must
• Experience with software engineering skills, process, techniques, and tools:
• Current programming languages, e.g., C++, C# .NET, C, and scripting languages
• Current operating systems, e.g., Windows, Linux, VxWorks
• Source code control
• Software reliability: code reviews, white box testing, TDD, etc.
• Defect management
• SCRUM and other forms of Agile Development preferred
• Software build & test automation experience
• System software installation
• Diagnostics tools
• System integration with global teams
• Demonstrable clear oral and written communication skills; excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Experience in full life-cycle software development in the medical device industry satisfying the design controls specified in the FDA Quality System Regulations or in a similarly disciplined software engineering environment
• Experience developing software for medical scanner or other medical devices
