Job description

1. Job purpose

The Sr. SW Engineer has the responsibility to create, implement and test the software on module level, conform to the departmental and project procedures and processes (documentation, code, verification). The Sr. SW Engineer ensures that his software is consistent with the higher level requirements & designs.

The Sr. SW Engineer is responsible for planning and tracking of his software and ensures risks are mitigated and communicated to stakeholders.

Sr. SW Engineer has been working as a SW Engineer for at least 2-3 years.

2. Key Areas of Responsibilities

 Responsible for Requirements, Design, implementation, test and integration of his software module in accordance with the SW Unit Requirement and - Design specifications.

 Ensures that his software is reliable, efficient, easy to maintain, and user-friendly.

 Ensures that there is proper documentation for the developed SW.

 Performs work in line with the SW engineering processes that have been agreed in the department.

 Understands and communicates consequences of his/her design on higher level designs.

 Maintains software by solving problems and implementing changes.

 Draws up personal schedule and reports on progress.

 Contributes to the Work Breakdown Structure/ the planning process of his/her area.

 Keeps abreast of technical developments in own field through study of literature and technical contacts.

3. Job Knowledge, skills and experience

 Experience in modern software engineering methods, tools, and processes.

 Experience in working in teams.

 Bachelor degree in software engineering or other relevant discipline (with SW training).

 Knowledge of state-of-the-art in programming and design methods & tools (e.g. UML, Real Time Design).

 Experience with programming languages (e.g. C/C++/C#), operating systems and development environments (e.g. Visual Studio)

 (Some) knowledge and understanding of other disciplines with which co operation takes place.

 Knowledge of a specific area of SW technology or product feature.

 Good communication skills.

 Disciplined team worker, to work independently and act pro-actively.

 Analytical, creative, and abstract thinker.

 Accurate and quality minded.
