Job description
A new nursery school in Central London is looking for outstanding, experienced and passionate teachers and teachers assistants to join the team. We follow traditional EYFS programme as well as teaching Chinese and Russian languages. We welcome applicants who have had experience working in bilingual settings. We are looking for native English speakers, as well as Chinese and Russian speakers.
Sound knowledge of EYFS in a must as well as being educated to at least Level 3 in Early Years Qualification or higher. Sound knowledge of first aid, safeguarding, and other policies is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities are:
- To be a key member of the School staff Team
- To contribute towards the delivery of the school ethos and its Aims and Objectives.
- To contribute by assisting the facilitation of daily/weekly routine that provides opportunities and experiences to develop in all areas of learning.
- To assist with the programmer of immersion of an additional language within the classrooms.
- To demonstrate exemplary practice within the school at all times.
- Assist in ensuring the classroom is well organised and facilitates opportunities for learning.
- To ensure that the classroom environment reflects the language of choice and support the teacher to ensure all resources are labelled in additional languages.
- Use your knowledge of the EYFS to provide a broad and balanced curriculum with a balance of child initiated and adult led activities as guided by your class teacher.
- To support your teacher with the documentation of children’s learning by carrying out and completing written observations.
- To ensure any Key Children you are allocated are appropriately planned for and supported.
- To carry out a planning and assessment system with Next Steps and document children’s learning in a Learning Journey format if required.
- To assist in the completion of starting points as children start at the setting as a basis for their future learning and development.
- To assist with the completion of two year progress checks as required.
- To demonstrate your skills as a reflective practitioner when analysing data collated from monitoring and assessment data.
- To operate a communication system with parents by providing updated information in written format on a weekly basis as guided by the class teacher.
- To have an open door policy approach with parents when verbally exchanging information about their child’s day.
- To facilitate formal parents meetings to discuss children’s progress if required.
- To support the class teacher in any task he/she may require to support the care and learning of the children.
- To take part in duties that maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the environment.
- To support the needs of school management and have flexible approach to additional tasks as required.
