MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Assists with Profit & Loss reporting, budgeting, latest estimates and strategic plan requirements for PR South Africa and PR Namibia. Provides a business support function to internal stakeholders.
FINANCE
1.
- Best-practice reporting procedures
A) Analyze financial status
- Perform detailed analysis of PR South Africa P&L performance, including rates per case versus comparator and brand P&L’s
- Identify the impact of key levers on financial performance
- Present financial reports to internal stakeholders, providing explanations of variances and gaps
- Financial information formatted to Group reporting requirements and uploaded into Group reporting systems (PRISMA and ESSbase)
- Proactively translate business needs into system requirements
- Verification and validation of master data in ERP system (JDE) in order to facilitate accurate management reporting
- Management Reporting BI tools (Qlikview) updated, reconciled and circulated to relevant stakeholders in terms of agreed timetable
- Analysis of results confirms accuracy and consistency of reporting
- Assist with preparation of monthly P&L commentary pack, executive presentations and other ad hoc presentation requirements
- Assist with preparation of business cases when required
- Ensure that reliable information is being received from affiliate (PR Namibia)
B) Compile information and develop tools for accurate financial budgets, plans and estimates
- Recommending improved methods of analysing results is key to the success of the role as business analyst
- Perform analytical work leading to accurate budgets, estimates and plans
- Develop and improve financial modelling tools to assist budget holders in generating budgets, estimates and plans
- Brands and Cost performance targets implemented
- Aggregate budget, forecast and plan information into consolidated forecasts for PR South Africa & PR Namibia
- Understand the business cycle in order to improve reporting formats and management accounts to stakeholders
C) Business Support Function
- Provide a business support function to internal stakeholders
- Prepare reports for internal stakeholders on a monthly basis, highlighting any issues and clearly articulating the key performance drivers
- Develop tools to assist business partners to better manage and understand their financial performance
- Work with business partners to identify risks and opportunities, escalating these to the appropriate levels when required
- Critically analyse and challenge information received from internal stakeholders as and when required
D) Risk Management, Treasury and Internal Control
- Identify the root cause of internal control deficiencies and make recommendations accordingly
- Ensure the implementation of corrective action plans related to risk management
- Understand the key cash KPI’s, and the impact of business activities on cash flows
- Understand both local and Pernod Ricard accounting guidelines
Stakeholders Relation
2. Productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders maintained
A) Collaborate with internal stakeholders
- Internal stakeholders given accurate financial information when required
- Finance presence at cross-functional meetings
- Provide a finance support function to PR Namibia.
B) Collaborate with external stakeholders
- Commercial issues identified and discussed with PR SSA and PR EMEA.
- Understand external audit objectives and constraints and formulates appropriate answers
Job Requirements
Minimum Educational Requirements and Work Experience:
- Master Degree
- Qualified with a post graduate diploma in Accounting i.e. CIMA or CA(SA)
- International Mindset – Have lived abroad (studies or work)
- Minimum 1-2 years financial reporting, report writing and analytical experience
- Experience in FMCG environment is essential
- Knowledge and experience of database management & BI (Business Intelligence) applications/tools
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluent in English
