We are currently looking for an R&D Analytical Assoc Scientist to join our Snacks team in Little Island on a contract role up to 14 months.

We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands. This role provides analytical support role to the R&D Snacks concentrate team and to various global Snacks projects in various areas such as;

·  Lead issue resolution and provide analytical support and consultancy for issues that arise in our manufacturing plants
·  Lead method validation for Snacks analytical methods
·  Support Snacks R&D development and research projects including trials, validation and scale ups
·  Implement and execute experiments, analyse and interpret data to make sound technical recommendations
·  Manage analytical testing to support novel research projects and provide insights
·  Manage maintenance and repairs of instruments in Snacks R&D group, liaising with external contractor and vendors.
·  Maintain accurate records and documentation
·  Assist team in developing conclusions and recommendations
·  Leverage external and internal expertise to optimise instrument scope
·  Develop and maintain effective working relationships across R&D and non-R&D functions as necessary to support business initiatives.
·  Support the day-to-day operation of the R&D function
·  Adhere to PepsiCo H&S standards and requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications / Requirements :

·  BSC or MSc in Chemistry/Food Science/Engineering (or equivalent)
·  Number of years’ experience in an analytical function
·  Strong experience in GC with MS or FID detection a distinct advantage for role
·  Proven track record in managing multiple projects
·  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·  Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to fast-changing priorities
·  Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills Additional Desired Criteria

·  Experience using additional analytical equipment and wet chemistry techniques
·  Experience with analytical testing for powder functionality
·  Excellent cultural sensitivity & Ability to bring others with you
·  Strong Negotiation & Influencing Skills
