Job Description

The retail landscape is changing at a rapid pace. The boundaries between online and offline have never been more intertwined. In an effort to accelerate the omnichannel transformation agenda, PepsiCo Europe will be investing in developing advanced digital sales solutions for our independent customers, i.e. Traditional Trade. With stronger digital engagement with our customers, we aim a continued profitable growth in our Traditional Trade channel.

As an innovative company, PepsiCo Europe decided to develop 2 priority digital platforms and expand them across all of its business units: digital ordering and Customer Engagement Platform. Additional digital tools & capabilities will be built in light of customers’ needs and PepsiCo’s growth aspirations in the future. We are looking now for a Commercial Digital Data Engineer who will support the delivery of Europe Digital Solutions (e-Ordering, Customer Engagement, and others) and Advanced Analytics agenda by providing data engineering services – data source identification, data ingestion, transformation, and provisioning to data scientists to feed Machine Learning models. Other key responsibilities include data pipelines and machine learning models production rising and maintenance; model retraining with the latest data to ensure concurrency with external business context.

Collaborate with the Europe Data Engineering team ensuring best practices and tech architecture standards are adopted.

Accountabilities

· 
Create, orchestrate, optimize and maintain ETL pipelines

· 
Collaborate with Commercial Sector (Data Science) stakeholders to create capabilities, tools and processes to drive best-in-class efficiency, effectiveness & sufficiency

· 
Assemble large complex data sets to assist different business requirements

· 
Data cataloging and documentation of data sets. Assist with initial data exploration steps to provide and document insights for data science

· 
Automate the ingestion of new data in line with agreed business KPIs for new business contexts. Automate any required integration with PepsiCo Data Products

· 
Assist with programming, modeling, and data integration, supporting task automation

· 
Interact with other IT teams to implement the required tasks

· 
Assist with initial data exploration steps (binning, pivoting, summarizing and finding correlations)

· 
Work alongside BU Analytics resources to set KPIs for model performance and identity issues with model performance,

· 
Assist with programming, modeling, and data integration, supporting task automation.

· 
Manage downstream model integration with digital ordering tools

· 
Assist with any IT requirement for data science. Manage the Data Science tools and systems and provide technical support

· 
Industrialize Machine Learning models and Data Science experiments. Maintenance of existing models. Model retraining with the latest data to ensure concurrency with external business context

Qualifications/Requirements

Key Skills/Experience Required

Technical skills

· 
1-3 years of hands-on data science/engineering, model building/maintenance

· 
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Telecommunications / Industrial Engineering

· 
Experience with Azure cloud environment and data engineering products.

· 
Software development skills: programming in Python, R, Scala, Java, or other languages.

· 
Databricks & Spark programming experience.

· 
Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.

· 
Industrialization of Machine Learning: Azure Machine Learning Services & MLflow

· 
Advanced working SQL knowledge and deep understanding of relational and warehousing database technology (eg Teradata)

· 
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management

· 
Data Science skills. Administration of DS development tools (JupyterLab, RStudio). Data visualization. Knowledge of main libraries for data science and machine learning algorithms

· 
Proven experience with designing and implementing Data maintenance & quality processes & tools

· 
Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets

· 
Any other sysadmin or system architecture experience will be valuable

· 
Any other experience with cloud platforms will be valuable (e.g. AWS, GCP)

Foundational / Business specific skills:

· 
Good understanding of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) business process and data.

· 
Experience working CPG data sets/sources of data (eg.: retailer, sales, ePOS, shelf, shopper, behavioral, panel, and geolocation data)

· 
Used to work in Agile projects and fast delivery pace environments

· 
Ability to solve highly complex problems within the work team and foster a high level of collaboration remotely in a multi-cultural international environment

· 
Provides outstanding customer service skills to direct and indirect customers

· 
Enterprise-grade platform/applications deployment and support experience

· 
Must be a quick learner and self-motivated.

· 
Must be a strong team player with effective teamwork skills

· 
Proficient business level English. Verbal and written communications skills
