about the role

Network & System Experts are the highest level of Expertise in the Network and Systems Release, Change and Fault Management processes. Network & System Expert Engineers are engaged in a reactive manner to troubleshoot and fix the most complex Customer, Network and Systems problems in the Orange worldwide Software Defined Network. In a proactive manner they are responsible to support the systems release management evolution, and to develop and implement plans that will prevent problems to happen or will avoid reoccurrence. This position is part of the Global ETEC (Enterprise Technology Expert Center) virtual team with positions in Oak Hill-Virginia-USA, Paris-France and New Delhi-India.

In this role you will have the following responsibilities:

Reactive functions:

·  Permanently resolve Network & Systems problems related to systems infrastructure to the network services.
·  Engage with appropriate departments (Engineering, Planning, Regional Deployment, VPN (Virtual Private Network) owners and Customers configuration teams) to permanently resolve capacity, design or operational issues.
·  Engage when required with external Vendors to resolve H/W defects or S/W (software bugs).
·  Support Business Support team to develop TIR (Technical Incident Report), RCA (Root Cause Analysis) or SIP (Service Improvement Plan) based on business needs or customer requirements.

Proactive functions:

·  Regular Quality of Service reviews/meeting with Engineering, Planning or Vendors.
·  Build and execute pilot phases for new S/W, H/W or features on the shared Infrastructure.
·  Contribute to New Services creation process (Specify, Build, Validation and Acceptance), providing Operation requirements and acceptance criteria for future optimal operability.
·  Monitor network and systems perform & develop plans with Engineering to address performance issues.
·  Support high Impact changes to the Systems infrastructure.
·  Share operational experience and best troubleshooting practices, to increase the global NSE expertise and performance.
·  Provide on-the-job training to other Operation groups for new products, this include the creation of related materials or lab scenario if required.
·  Identify and develop creative ways for improving technical support, tools and processes.
·  Build urgent and short-term improvement plans to mitigate impact of temporary S/W defects or monitoring gaps.

about you

Educational Qualifications

·  Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IS.University Technical Degree (Engineering, Computer Science, IS etc ...).

Relevant Experience/Skills

·  5 years or more experience in Cloud Systems and/or IP Network Virtual functions (Support or Engineering).

This includes most of the following network systems technologies and protocols:

·  Strong background with UNIX and UNIX-like systems (CentOS, Debian, Redhat, FreeBSD) administration
·  SDN/NFV (Software Defined Network/Network Function Virtualization with RedHat OpenStack/KVM/Linux, VMWare Sphere/EXSi, NSX-T
·  Juniper Contrail
·  Ciena BluePlanet
·  Network Automation development with Python, RedHat Ansible, PERL, Shell
·  TCP/IP protocols experience (BGP/MPLS, DNS, DHCP, VoIP, TACACS, RADIUS, SNMP, LDAP, HTTP protocols)

The following skills and experience will be a plus:

·  Agile/SCRUM, Git/Gitlab and CI/CD Code Testing framework
·  Cisco NSO and YANG data modelling
·  Automation technologies (Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher)
·  Juniper MX routers/EX switches and Cisco ASR routers
·  CDN (Content Data Network) based on Akamai technologies.

Additional desired skills/knowledge

·  Analytical mindset and ability to resolve problems quickly.
·  Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English.
·  Ability to work under stressful condition.
·  Capability to work in a global, changing and multicultural environment.
·  Requirement to work weekends, holidays on site or on call.
