Job description

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

Technical Mentor in Residence - Bristol - Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator (OSCA)

The Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator (OSCA) is headed up by an SVP of Product Development at Oracle, who is also a serial entrepreneur.

The program will identify promising startup companies to benefit from Oracle's assistance, mentoring, software, resources and office space. Following an intensive selection process around 5 companies will be identified each cohort.

You will be supervising the successful functioning of the Accelerator center locally in partnership with the Programme Lead.

Your primary objectives and responsibilities will be:

Cloud Adoption (40%)

· Manage the cloud account creation for the startups

· Manage and operate the Oracle SCA cloud account

· Tracking KPIs and success metrics for cloud adoption.

· Supporting teams with their infrastructure, setup and ongoing development on Oracle cloud.

Product Evangelism (30%)

· Contributing to curriculum development and providing technical sessions to startups.

· Designing and developing the product and technical focused parts of the curriculum to add value to the startup cohort.

· Leading design thinking and brainstorm workshops with startups on their technology implementation and technology being used.

· Assist with technical onboarding of external mentors for OSCA

Internal Engagement (30%)

· Responsible as a main point of contact to internal product and business stakeholders for Oracle to the startup community.

· Establishing priorities with clients / Oracle business of technology focus areas to shape OSCA selection process.

· Developing interest and nurturing relationships with internal and technical mentors.

· Managing the end-to-end process for startup POCs, live pilots and commercialization for Oracle.

· An understanding of design thinking, and agile processes with the ability to deliver workshops in this area.

· A role that has allowed you to interact with stakeholders across the spectrum with an understanding of how to manage multiple relationships on complex projects.
