Job description

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a TL Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Leads and acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. BA/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.

The Global Enterprise Architecture team is part of the Sales Consulting (pre-sales) organisation within Oracle Retail and is seeking an Enterprise Architect Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep technology experience across the Oracle Public Cloud (IaaS & PaaS), Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware stack, backed by Retail Industry domain knowledge. Experience of the Oracle Retail Suite including Oracle Commerce (formerly known as ATG and Endeca), Oracle Cloud Commerce (OCC) or the assets Oracle acquired from Micros (Serenade, Locate, XStore, Engage, etc) is beneficial but not mandatory. The ideal candidate will have grown within a Retailer or Consulting/Software organisation and be able to take an architectural discussion to board level.

Key Objectives:
·  Lead complex multi-application (and line of business) pre-sales engagements
·  Work collaboratively with peers from the Retail Business Unit and from other lines of businesses – in some cases taking a supporting vs. leading role
·  Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Retail Industry processes, technology, business environments and practices. Use familiarity with competitor's products and services to differential our offering.
·  Design and propose the architectural solution of a complete Retail applications footprint (often including RGBU applications, Omni-Channel Commerce, Point of Service, Financials, HR and CRM systems)
·  Leverage Oracle's technology components to build a compelling ‘One Oracle' message during the sales cycle, with the ability to demonstrate core knowledge of each component.
·  Support sales opportunities by conducting customised demonstrations, presentations and Proofs of Concept, responding to Requests for Proposals, conducting discovery sessions with customers, and engaging with Sales in opportunity and account planning.
·  Understand and contribute to the RGBU's product strategy especially in the areas of technology adoption and business intelligence.

Responsibilities

·  Use knowledge of industry processes, technology and business environments to lead board level discussion around enterprise transformation projects using Oracle Retails products and services.
·  Execute entire large scale (multi-week) sales consulting engagements, ensuring that client objectives are adhered to and resources from different Oracle lines of business are appropriately assigned.
·  Qualify, validate and ensure that the appropriate solutions and technology components are proposed and that associated activities are agreed with the sales team.
·  Lead and support discovery sessions with technical evaluators, business users, executives, systems integrators etc
·  Articulate the value of the proposed Oracle solution in the context of the customer's business problem and requirements, and demonstrate competitive superiority and technical knowledge.

Qualifications
·  10+ years experience in the Retail sector (either within a Retailer or Software supplier) with a focus on technology and architecture.
·  5+ years experience in a sales consulting leadership role or enterprise architect role within a retailer
·  Experience of Oracle Applications such Oracle Retail, Fusion ERP (or it's predecessors), Oracle CX solutions,or competitor equivalents.
·  The candidate should possess strong written and verbal communication skills and have demonstrated the ability to solve complex technical problems. Education to BS degree or equivalent is required; advanced degree desirable.

The role requires national and international travel around 35% to 50% of the time.
