Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Cloud Network Monitoring team is looking for a lead Systems Engineer. You will work on code and automation to create new systems for scaling deployment and mission-critical operation of our cloud. The role is a mix of systems engineering, automation engineering, network operations, and data engineering, and DevOps. You should be comfortable at building complex distributed systems involving huge amount of data handling - collecting metrics, building data pipelines, and analytics. Prior experience with data processing and distributed systems and Networking is a plus. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Desired Qualifications:

·  6+ years of experience in software development/operations
·  3+ years of experience in developing/operating large scale distributed services / applications
·  Proficiency in Java, Python, Linux, scripting
·  Experience working with fault tolerant, highly available, high traffic/throughput, distributed, scalable systems
·  Knowledge of cloud compute technologies, network monitoring, data processing and analytics
·  Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
·  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field

Additional Qualifications:

·  Prior experience with datacenter monitoring, service oriented systems, microservices
·  Networking Monitoring, Networking protocols, SNMP, syslog, network telemetry, REST API
·  Exposure to Grafana, Prometheus or other TSDB, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and other distributed platforms
·  Contributions to Open Source Apache projects is big plus
·  Knowledge of Scrum & Agile Methodologies
·  Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering field Position
