Medical Advisor / Scientific Advisor (Neuroscience), Novartis, UK

Job purpose:

You will be accountable for developing and driving the Brand core claim plan and leveraging clinical/scientific data to optimize the adoption of the Novartis Brand

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides internal training and specialist support on Brand/TA for head office and field force personnel (15%)
• Provides high quality and timely briefing materials/training on all appropriate data for Novartis UK
• Ensures proactive provision of current awareness e.g. Medical Insight, competitor data & trial data from
Clinical Project Manager, to field force and head office personnel
• Delivers training for internal personnel (head office and field force) on Brand and TA scientific knowledge
• Brand Owns, manages and develops strategic Brand Core Claim Plan (40%)
• Owns, manages and develops clear, structured and effective core claims plans and publications documents
meeting TA/Brand objectives Consults and works with Medical Affairs Advisor/Manager in the development
of core claims plans
• Conducts gap analysis to identify and optimize future marketing potential of the Brand Supports Medical
Affairs Manager/Advisor and the Marketing team to develop market leading promotional campaigns in
conjunction with promotional affairs advisor
• Ensures Copy Approval Process signatory is in accordance with approval SOPs (15%)
• Reviews promotional materials within required guidelines to ensure compliance with ABPI Code of Practice regulations & NP4 guidelines
• Supports delivery of Brand by creation and defence of ABPI Code of Practice complaints (10%)
• Supports Medical Affairs Advisor/Manager with compilation of effective complaints against competitor
promotional campaigns and defend complaints against Novartis Brands
• Supports the delivery of the Brand Operational Plan including delivery of medical education meetings(15%) provides additional information to support Medical Information enquiry handling process for Brand and TA
• Understands current and future positioning aims for the Brand and identifies, with Clinical Project Manager,
clinical activities that support the achievement of those aims
• Support Sales force with formulary submissions
• Participates and supports Health Technology Appraisal Team to ensure that submissions secure best
possible and most positive outcomes and deliver value to business
• Customer Supports Medical Affairs Advisor/Manager and field medical team with KOL customer interactions (5%)
• Supports Medical Affairs Advisor/Manager with development and maintenance of effective working
partnerships with and KOLs in order to establish critical input to support sound decision making and Brand development

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Life Science Degree or healthcare professional experience (e.g. nurse, pharmacist or physician) or equivalent
• Significant number of years pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Ideally relevant therapeutic area experience
• Final ABPI signatory experience or ability to train in role to become final signatory would be ideal
