The Infectious disease department at NIBR is a team of more than 200 scientists using a diverse array of approaches and cutting-edge technology to develop drugs to address unmet medical need.

Impact of your Role

We are seeking an innovative immunologist who has a high degree of creativity and independence, and is used to working in an interactive environment. By focusing on the molecular, cellular and immune signaling aspects of chronic viral persistence you will develop novel therapies to tackle chronic viral infections. Starting from early discovery up to clinical Proof-of-Concept studies in patients, you will independently establish and lead innovative research projects and have access to a broad spectrum of expertise and technology platforms by collaborating with other experts in the field. You will lead a highly dynamic and creative team with research focusing on important unmet medical needs in infectious diseases. We encourage that your cutting-edge research will continue to lead to publication of impactful papers.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:
• Explore and develop novel immune based therapies for chronic viral infections
• Design and execute research plans independently
• Manage an anti-viral research team
• Present findings at internal and external scientific meetings
• Work cross-functionally in a complex and fast pace research organization
• Maintain deep understanding in infectious disease research in industry and academia

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

Knowledge, experience and skills:
• PhD or post-doctoral training in immunology or related life science disciplines with proven high-impact achievements
• Prior drug discovery experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company highly preferred
• Directly conducted and participated in research projects involving the mechanisms involved in viral persistence
• Detail-oriented, insightful, passionate and self-driven scientist with demonstrated high-levels of independence, team-work and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
