Position Purpose:
The Cancer Services Business Manager is responsible for developing relationships with key external stakeholders involved in the provision of cancer services in Australia and for finding and implementing solutions that will optimise the patient journey and our PSP offering. Working as an integral part of the brand team, this role will be responsible for ongoing development, implementation and execution of strategic on-label account based plans that optimise the smooth transition of a cancer patient though their Novartis treatment, regardless of whether the patient is being treated in the public or private sector; metro or rural area.

Major Accountabilities:
• As part of a cross functional team, prepare, implement and execute on strategic account based plans which are in line with the brand tactical plans.
• Demonstrate behaviours in accordance with our core values: Innovation, Collaboration, Courage, Quality, Performance and Integrity.
• With the support of the Cross Functional Brand Team deliver operational plans as agreed with the Portfolio Lead and the brand team to optimise patient journey for novartis medicines.
• Be a brand champion to create focus and enthusiasm both internally and with external customers and hospitals.
• Optimise smooth patient treatment and monitoring flow through appropriate resource allocation and business understanding that meets brand objectives and customer needs.
• Identifies account/hospital specific insights using market research, competitive intelligence, and face to face interactions and an understanding of the disease area to ensure patient management.
• Leads development and drives consistent execution of account based strategic insights to enhance patient treatment management, while using appropriate KPIs.
• Works with the wider sales team to accurately map the formulary process with each hospital/state to provide to the sales team.
• Develop strong customer business networks; develop and champion expert knowledge of medical experts, customers and customer working environment.
• Monitors performance and external environment via appropriate tools and takes corrective action as required to meet business objectives.
• Maintain and enhance knowledge of products, company developments, customers and competitors. This will also include a full and complete knowledge of the product information and relevant clinical papers, and clinical developments within the therapeutic area. Disseminate additional insights with sales colleagues appropriate to NP4 requirements.
• Prioritises appropriate targeting, across all customer segments. • Ensure all activities comply with company policies, relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards.
• Ensure the prompt reporting of adverse events to the DS&E department in accordance with company procedure.

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

Education and Experience:
• Tertiary qualifications in a science or related field i.e. nursing English Required:
• Successful and demonstrated sales, key account management and/or marketing experience
• Recent brand launch experience
• Excellent planning and negotiation skills as well as project management experience Preferred:
• > 3 years specialty customer facing experience
• Evidence of leading matrix and cross functional work experience
• Consistent high level of success in achieving objectives
• Proven record of achievement outside the sales role is desired
• Proven record of execution of business plans is essential
• Completed or near completion of the Medicine’s Australia course is essential
