Represent Novartis in Severe Allergic Asthma (SAA) and COPD to introduce products to key Severe Asthma and select COPD community and hospital decision makers within accounts to maintain, grow and gain business. As a SAA/COPD team member you will be accountable for the achievement of sales targets for the Novartis Respiratory Franchise. Clients include SAA and COPD Decision Makers – Respiratory Physicians, Immunologists / Allergists, General Physicians, Asthma Nurses, Pharmacists, and other Hospital Healthcare Professionals.

Responsibility for developing the maximum sales of the company’s products in the assigned areas through full coverage of all contacts and by becoming a value-added partner to the health care professionals. Deliver superior sales presentations to customers by fully planning each call with specific objectives; maintaining the customer’s interest; overcoming objections positively; reframing product features into customer benefits and the competent use of relevant literature. Effectively engage with SAA and COPD community and hospital decision makers, key opinion leaders and Novartis colleagues to drive sales, educational, product and clinical practice messaging on SAA/COPD brand initiatives across the portfolio. Stay current on standards of care and SAA and COPD practice as it relates to Novartis SAA and COPD brands and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current scientific literature in the field in order to apply knowledge to Novartis brands for both driving the existing business as well as new innovation across Novartis SAA and COPD platforms. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive products, sales messages, key competitive features and benefits and how this relates to Novartis SAA and COPD line of products. Develop and execute business plans for each account and the total territory, ensuring a full understanding of all aspects of the account that will drive business success.

Implement:
§ Key customer management, involving the creation of individualised customer solutions to assist with optimisation of clinic activities
§ Customer mapping to drive efficiencies of referral, access and follow-up pathways Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all weekly reports, maintenance of territory records, handling of enquiries and complaints quickly and professionally and in accordance with company procedures.

Contribute positively to the Sales and Marketing team through cooperative relationships and collaborative efforts to achieve team goals. This will include input into budget planning, sales target forecasting and marketing procedures as required. Ensure the prompt transmission of relevant information for the healthcare professionals back to either the Marketing or Clinical departments. Ensure the prompt reporting of adverse events to the Regulatory department in accordance with company procedures. Be aware of the content and the application of the Medicines Australia’s Code of Conduct regarding representative activity.

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

Tertiary qualifications in a science-related field or business background and/or nursing / para medical background
2 plus years Hospital Selling experience
Sales / Clinical experience in the Respiratory or Immunology field is desired
Consistent high level of success in achieving sales targets
Completed or near completion of the Medicine’s Australia course
