We're currently looking for a Specialist 2, Arbitration to join our team at our Customer Resource Center (CRC) located in Murfreesboro, TN

Job Summary
Responds to issues associated with the mediation and arbitration functions, serves as a resource for Nissan regional staff, Consumer Affairs and Arbitration Specialist I regarding state lemon laws. Resolves lemon law and breach of warranty claims by answering pre-litigation attorney demand letters and state Attorney General Arbitration Board cases. Handles all small claims court cases. Negotiates issues with the consumer, their attorneys and consumer agencies including scheduling appointments, investigating issues, and documenting concerns and evaluating each case for possible repurchase, replacement, or other win-win settlements.

Job Functions

·  Effectively negotiates settlements with consumers' attorneys through strong verbal and written communication.
·  Evaluates each pre-litigation lemon law and breach of warranty allegation for risk to minimize legal and financial exposure to the company Interfaces with attorneys, consumers, Consumer Affairs dept, dealerships, regional field personnel, legal counsel, and engineering departments regarding conflict resolution.
·  Completes mandated and voluntary repurchase and replacement transactions within mandatory time frame requirements of each state. Ensures the state required documents are sent to the vendor for handling.
·  Processes voluntary and mandated repurchase or replacements including Consumer Affairs request reviews, documentation, and calculations.
·  Coordinates scheduling of hearing, representation, third party contacts and preparation of documents regarding Lemon Law, Better Business Bureau, Attorney General and small claims matters.
·  Assists Nissan staff regarding Lemon Laws, Better Business Bureau, repurchases and vehicle tradeout issues. Reviews and resolves issues following lawful guidelines.
·  Schedules appointments between dealers, customers, and factory representative regarding issue resolution and arbitration avoidance. Provides training, support and guidance to new arbitration specialists and Consumer Affairs dept. Identify and Communicate customer handling breakdowns which result in buybacks to facing Regional and Consumer Affairs teams.
·  Handle special projects as directed. Identify best practices for potential Dispute Resolution Team standard operating procedure enhancement and implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

·  Job Knowledge and Skill: Basic computer systems knowledge, proven customer interaction skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills. Mastery of the inbound, follow-up and basic dispute resolution functions. Experience: One or more years directly related experience at a professional level.
·  Education: Bachelor's degree. Consider equivalent related college or technical courses, seminars and in-house classroom training. Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, etc. to output routine products with similar, non-creative formats.
·  Physical Requirements Travel: Occasional overnight travel.
