Job description

In Nike Running, our mission is to serve Runners. As our Running Specialty Sales Representative, you'll establish Nike as the premier partner with Running specialty retailers. You'll accomplish this by providing consultative sales & services to an assigned account portfolio, driving revenue growth and maximizing profits for Nike and the retail customer. You'll service an assigned account base through regularly scheduled product presentations (footwear, apparel, equipment), business meetings, and service calls. You'll also solicit business commitments, ensure order submission for each booking period, and maximize the use of retail marketing assets within the assigned account portfolio. You'll facilitate the communication of shipping information, collaborate with partners on sell-through strategies at retail, and provide guidance on the optimal assortment plans needed to achieve agreed upon strategies. You'll track orders, handle logistics issues, manage a seasonal sample line, and submit expense reports in a timely manner. You'll also influence selling decisions with advanced skills in account and financial/inventory planning, product forecasting, and analysis of the assigned account base. You'll be responsible for developing an in-depth knowledge of Nike's competitors' policies, programs and products as well as territory/national demographics and economic influences. You'll act as a liaison to customers on relevant Nike initiatives, collaboratively develop capabilities, and enhance Nike & retail partner connection to the Running consumer. You'll also build and maintain strong relationships with internal cross-functional teammates. You'll communicate account issues, future business opportunities, product issues, and other important insights to sales management. You'll travel to sales meetings, specialty trade shows, and participate in market trips. In addition, you'll drive retail sales and build relationships by participating in retailer events and teaming with accounts to plan & execute compelling consumer events.

Desired profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or an equivalent field is preferred
• 2+ years' additional sales experience in lieu of a degree
• 3+ years' experience in the running industry (retail or sales) is strongly preferred
• Sports marketing experience in the running category preferred
• Passion towards running, preferably an enthusiast and a participant
• Strong knowledge of the athletic industry and trends in the marketplace
• Intermediate to advanced Business Planning experience
• Intermediate to advanced financial decision making skills
• Merchandising experience is preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Understanding of the competitive market, customers and retail trends
• Ability to use financial data to make decisions and maximize account profitability
• Ability to develop accurate/realistic seasonal assortments, forecasts and scenario plans
• Leadership qualities and ability to persuade and influence people to take desired action
• Ability to prepare, plan and deliver clear and persuasive sales presentations
• Ability to travel to assigned accounts up to 60% of the time
• Ability to grasp, carry and move samples up to 50 lbs.
