Job Description

This role is critical to creating, maintaining and delivering high quality data files that feed all of Nielsen’s RDH (Retailer Defined Hierarchies) deliverables to clients. This position will have accountability for assisting with the set-up and execution of retailer refresh events, weekly characteristic maintenance, investigating/answering client data inquiries and complex project work. This role operates heavily in Excel utilizing Pivot Tables, Excel Functions, and Macros.

Job Purpose

·  Work with Nielsen proprietary server data, applications and tools to help set up, create and maintain Retailer Defined Hierarchies for approximately 60 custom/syndicated refresh events per year
·  Meet established department and client timing for refresh data delivery
·  Assist with the completion of the Weekly MSC (Market Structure Characteristic) Maintenance to ensure all Excel Rules are kept current
·  Provide Client Data Inquiry investigation and information and respond to requestor utilizing the Global Client Process Tracker (GCPT) tool
·  Work with the off-shore team as needed to ensure retailer refreshes and monthly maintenance workload is completed accurately and on time
·  Assist with mentoring the team on new processes and procedures and answer any workload questions they have
·  Assist and support other team members with their workload and responsibilities as needed
·  Work independently or with the larger RDH Services team to complete projects and other initiatives as assigned
·  Acquire and maintain an understanding and solid working knowledge of the systems and applications utilized by the RDH process
·  Identify quality and process enhancements in order to improve operational efficiency and client satisfaction
·  Communicate and work effectively with all internal and external customers

Required Background and Skills:

·  Experience in Operations, Retail, Manufacturing, Service or other related industry
·  General knowledge of retailer products and practices
·  Effective problem-solving and analytical skills with emphasis on the creation of accurate and efficient Excel-based hierarchy rules
·  Creative; proactive; works well in a close team setting; displays a positive attitude
·  Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively
·  Process improvement skills - ability to define and refine processes to achieve improvements in quality and productivity
·  Capable of adapting to changing priorities on short notice; strong prioritization and time management skills
·  Proficiency in PC software applications, Google applications, and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Google Suite experience a plus
·  Knowledge of Nielsen products, Reference Data Systems (e.g. OGRDS), Output spec’ing (e.g. eSpec) and Client Inquiry process, a plus
