Packing Operator

We are looking for a talented Packing Operator ideally with FMCG experience for our factory in Sudbury, Suffolk. The site is the home of Baker's, the number one dry pet food in the UK and currently employs over 200 people.

What can you expect?

You will be responsible for running the packing lines and ensuring high safety and quality standards are adhered to. As well as working as part of a team to achieve the production plan you will be responsible for the hygiene and cleanliness of your working area, ensuring they are of the highest standards.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:
· Machine setting including understanding of the equipment and basic PC skills
· Problem solving with a root cause mind-set, whilst continually thinking of new ideas to improve safety, quality and performance to meet consumer needs
· Accountable for performance targets by operating machines and systems whilst adhering to Good Manufacturing Principles
· Ensuring the process runs at its optimum; producing high quality product and coordinating actions where necessary on your line.

The ideal candidate will be professional, a team player who is able to effectively communicate and share continuous improvement related ideas with their team and key stakeholders.

Key skills include:
· Ownership, results focus and strong communication skills
· Willingness to learn new skills, broad minded and adaptable
· Problem solving mind-set and TPM (Total Performance Management) experience is preferred
· Excellent time keeping and ability to plan ahead
· Flexibility as you may be required to work in different areas of the department and/or factory.

What you need to know

The role on offer is permanent, working our standard shift pattern of 12.25 hour shifts, 2 days and 2 nights followed by 4 rest days.
