To support its research strategy, the Food Safety and Quality competence pillar at the NRC is seeking a: Statiscian for Quality and Food Safety who will join the Statistics and Bioinformatics for Quality group and work closely with scientists in the statistics field.
The 6 month contract is a replacement of a maternity leave. It will consist in getting familiarized with the work of a statistician at Nestlé R&D, more specifically in the field of analytical method assessment and statistical modelling. The statistician will have to analyze data of ongoing projects, provide technical assitance on analytical method validation following internal guidelines and develop e-learnings based on the existing training material. The statistician will also participate to the development or improvement of existing approaches on analytical method assessment or chemometry, depending on his/her background.
Main responsibilities:
· Integrate the internal guidelines on method validation to be able to give statistical technical assistance in this field,
· Create e-learnings according to existing training material,
· Provide technical assistance at all stages of projects, from design to final report.
· Propose new approaches for statistics for Quality and Food Safety
Required profile:
· Master degree in Statistics or Chemometry,
· Interest for food products and interest for applying statistics to ensure the quality and safety of food products,
· Good knowledge of descriptive statistics and linear models,
· Skilled in R or Matlab,
· Good level of written and spoken English (French is an advantage).
