Technical Operator Level 2 - Blow Moulding

Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Blow Moulding Technician based at our Manchester site. The candidate will optimise, support and maintain production / supply equipment effectively and efficiently. Maintain and drive site performance through continuous improvement and root cause analysis/problem solving activity, supporting the Engineering team to improve machine availability and performance, support and participate in activity to ensure that all Company standards are met or exceeded. The role will involve a shift pattern of 4 on and 4 off including days and nights.

Your challenge

In this role the key responsibilities will include:

• Effective set up of Blow Moulding equipment (to include coaching / mentoring of Operators & L1 Technicians) to optimise full site performance KPIs.

• Blow Moulder - Wheel and Uniloy process, Machine Set up Champion, Extruder/processing controls, Trimmer, Leak Detector, VIMS System, bagger & de-bagger (optimise equipment set up, drive maximum performance output).

• Bottle Supply Conveying Systems - support supply chain / downtime reduction.

• Material Handling Room, Granulator and Blender and associated equipment - optimise material controls and waste reduction.

• Lead / support manufacturing Continuous Improvement initiatives (including energy reduction).

• Lead root cause analysis / problem solving activity.

• Full adherence to all Health and Safety policies and procedures and support the development of all Safe Systems of Work.

• Ensure all machine safety checks completed in full.

• Adherence to all machine Operating Procedures.

• Record and report all Health and Safety, or Quality Incidents / Accidents to Shift Leader, and lead / support the effective resolution of all issues (as requested).

• Drive closure of Star Cards as raised with 100 year fixes.

• Ensure compliance to manufacturing quality checks as per Quality Control Plan with completion of relevant manufacturing documentation and log books.

• Ensure Full compliance to Site Accreditation Standards for allocated area.

• Support Engineering team with Site Maintenance and Breakdowns.

• Carry out pre and post maintenance operational checks.

• Drive Site to Optimum performance, reducing waste (including energy) costs.

Key skills & experience:

• Previous experience in Blow Moulding machine processing.

• Relevant manufacturing or engineering qualifications desirable.

• Flexibility to support shift patterns and business needs.

• Attention to detail.

• Able to work as part of a team.

• Good standard of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
