Description:

We are recruiting for a Quality Compliance technician who will join the laboratory team at our Telford site. The role will be responsible for ensuring products are of the highest standards, prior to reaching our customers. Working closely with Operations the successful applicants will be key to resolving any Quality issues, completing investigation studies to establish root cause.

Your challenge:

We require a people focused team player to join this busy team with the ability to work cross functionally with other departments. A keen eye for detail and constant awareness of safety and compliance will also be essential in this role.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

- General Laboratory duties including cleaning, preparing reagents, cleaning glassware

- Ensuring that all required testing is completed in the Analytical Lab, including routine and non-routine product testing.

- Supporting the instigation & execution of OOS investigations on a plant-wide basis

- Assuring accurate and complete records of work done, and all other appropriate laboratory information and results are maintained.

- Maintain CLAS standard at all times.

- Ensures all calibrations/ verifications are carried out according to the internal schedule

- Ensures equipment is well maintained and any concerns are resolved/ escalated in a timely manner

- Ensure External laboratory Samples are logged prior to weekly collection

- Conduct Internal and External QM Testing

- Conducts daily taste panel and ensures any non-conformances are both logged and investigated

- Supports/ covers the day to day testing conducted in the Microbiology Lab

- Supports with SP timeline creation & investigation

- Organise routine activity and scheduled work in the Microbiology Laboratory.

- Lead cleaning standards & adherence to schedules

- Assist internal audits according to the audit schedule

- Carry out testing of ingredients and finished products

- Collection and preparation of samples for external analysis, ensuring the schedule is adhered to.

- Ensuring all out of specification results are actioned & escalated to the relevant people within a timely manner

- Preparing reagents

- Conduct environmental monitoring within the Laboratory and Production areas

- Maintains appropriate legal, company, and third party records/ documentation.

- Conducts calibration & verification of Lab Instruments, according to the internal schedule.

- Ensure a good level of handover is provided to ensure smooth running of operations

- Ensure all paperwork in complete & filed.

- Maintains a clean and tidy Lab at all times

In addition to the above this role will have a continuous improvement focus, playing an integral part in establishing root cause analysis and informing future improvements.

Essential Experience Required includes:

- A keen eye for detail and ability to work on own initiative

- Good communication skill; written & oral

- Ability to work both alone and as part of a team in a busy environment

- The ability to work under pressure

- Pro-active approach to continued professional development of self

- Dairy Experience - Desirable

- Previous Laboratory experience

- Problem solving skills

- Ability to write technical reports

- Experience of FOSS FT Machines - use and calibrations
