Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Coordinator based at our Severnside site. The role will be to provide a technical support service to the site operation. Role holders will be working without direct supervision monitoring compliance to standard procedures, guidelines and quality. The role holder will be involved in continuous improvement or corrective action to improve standards.

Your challenge

In this role the key responsibilities will include:

• Monitor operational procedures, guidelines and GMP and advise Manufacturing, Engineering and Technical management and Suppliers where appropriate to ensure they are aware of any situations where products and/or activities are outside defined parameters and where improvements in product and process quality could be made.

• Evaluate site data and information to provide advice to Technical and Operations Management so that informed business decisions can be made.

• Liaise with relevant departments to investigate non-conformance and recommend/agree appropriate action. Takes full responsibility for actioning non-conforming product in line with Company procedures, including updating appropriate systems e.g., NCR's.

• Working with other team members / departments to evaluate processes and procedures and help implement change programs to drive waste out of the operation.

• Listen and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, internally (e.g. team briefings, handovers) and externally (e.g. across departments and with suppliers) to ensure own activities, and those of others, are effectively aligned to minimise disruptions and meet objectives.

• Understand, observe and ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules and be aware of the safety of self and others to promote a safe working environment.

• Provide advice, problem solving and access to specialist knowledge, to both individuals and the production teams, to resolve issues speedily and effectively.

• Promote and encourage, through active listening, identification, ownership and resolution of problems, to continually improve team and business performance.

Key skills & experience:

• 2 years in a food technical environment.

• Chartered Institute of Environmental Health: Basic Health and Safety and Intermediate Food Hygiene.

• Trained auditing skills.

• Good level of computer literacy, including working knowledge of Company specific IT systems e.g. Intranet, FMA.

• Knowledge of GMP, practical application of HACCP, Process and Product Standards, Specifications and Attributes.

• Basic understanding of Food Chemistry and Microbiology.

• Planning and organising skills including basic project management skills.

• Attention to detail.

• Communication skills, verbal and written including presentation skills and report writing.

• Numeracy including basic data analysis and interpretation.

• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Techniques and problem solving skills.
