How do you fit in the organisation?
You will be aligned to a domain within Morrisons Technology, passionately guiding teams to deliver simple, flexible and secure solutions and create opportunities for Morrisons. You will be the technical lead for a number of products and services and will ensure we make the right decisions on their technical direction.

What makes you a Solution Architec t?
Here are some of the attributes you’ll possess:
• You live and breathe service-oriented architecture and understand how to decompose a complex problem into a set of services
• You have a strong problem solving ability, and domain modeling skills
• You are great at connecting with your colleagues and helping build consensus around your ideas
• You have experience creating great user platforms or in building well designed and scalable REST based services - or both!
• You understand the value of simplicity and how to evolve ageing software platforms
• You’re still hands on and not afraid to trial new frameworks and tools
• You understand what it means to be agile and you are your best in that environment
• You’re passionate about creating software right. You understand the value of techniques like continuous integration and know how to implement it
• You will be seen as a technical leader amongst your colleagues. They look up to you and you provide them with guidance on complex system problems
• You are able and willing to take accountability in a supportive environment
• You enjoy sharing knowledge and helping grow and develop those around you
• You keep yourself current with technology and architecture patterns. You regularly network with your peers and use this breadth to choose the right solution

As a Solution Architect, you will have:

• Experience in working on large-scale, distributed architectures
• Proven track record of taking responsibility for architectural decisions and assurance across complex changes
• Experience working with mixed and distributed teams
• Ability to understand code in at least two major languages including either Java, Javascript or C#
• Ability to practically apply computing fundamentals
• Retail Industry experience is a plus
