We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join the Engineering team at our manufacturing site in Spalding . Reporting to the Engineering Team Manager, you will work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption. These roles will be on a day shift basis on weekends covering Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues.

Spalding (abattoir) was re-developed in 2008 covering 164,000 sq ft on 7.5acres of land. They have 780 colleagues and run a 5 day operation. They supply stores, Farmers Boy with raw materials to produce a full range of butchery products including materials for sausage, pies and cooked meats. We are currently increasing the size of our team covering weekends; working to improve completion of Pre Planned Maintenance to support the efficiency of our factory and were looking for two additional Engineers to help us do this. This can be a full or part time role but will include working weekends.

Here at Morrisons our Multi Skilled Engineers do the following;

· Work collaboratively within the Engineering team
· Support in investigating means of improving plant productivity
· Ensure that all necessary spare parts, materials and equipment are available.
· Investigate and establish causes of all breakdowns and damages
· Action any necessary repairs and ensure all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised.
· Be involved in both electrical and mechanical reactive and pro-active maintenance.
· Be proactive in ensuring good health and safety on site

What do I need to be a successful Multi Skilled Engineer?

· You will be qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical Engineering, BTEC level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering)
· Ideally, IEE qualification up to 17th edition Wiring Regulations
· Have a proven track record in an Engineering and fault finding role gained from within a FMCG environment (Ideally Food Industry)
· Have a good understanding of HACCP principles
· Previous experience programming PLC is beneficial however not essential.
· You will also possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate assertiveness and decision making skills and have a can do attitude to your work.
