Job description

Team:
The Listed Sales and Trading team has a significant global footprint, numbering over 150 people spread across all time-zones. We cover multiple technical disciplines, with shared infrastructure, front-end and server development. The team is responsible for global sales and trading systems across multiple asset classes. System functionalities involve order capturing, order state management, risk, limit and regulatory checks, connectivity to external clients, exchanges and counter parties, order routing, and order handling strategy in multitude of trading scenarios.

The systems support various products such as equity, equity derivatives, futures, FX, and rates, across the globe. It is part of the Electronic Sales Trading And Risk (ESTAR) group, which develops and supports applications for both internal users and external clients representing Order/RFQ management & execution, client trading, real-time, Risk Management, Trade Capture and Derivatives Structure Products. You will be part of a global team of talented technologists who will be providing solutions and support to applications used across the ESTAR group, a group that has over 570 people across over 15 locations.

Role Profile:

· You will work on complex assignments involving new development as well as enhancement of the system to support new business.
· This is a hand's on development role working with the wider team (some of whom are remote).
· You will actively partner with Traders and Sales Traders to assess and gather new business requirements.
· You will be managing of the priority and planning of various deliverables for the Cash desk in Europe.
· You will spend time with the product managers and clients to discuss potential implementations of the feature. We develop business use cases and generate rapid prototypes of UI components, working with the business unit to hammer out the final user experience.
· You will work out the remaining implementation in collaboration with the extended team, focusing on performance and scale. We then assist the business in the rollout of the feature to clients.
· Projects vary from multi-day to multi-month. You will see the feature delivery through to the end.
· You will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall design and architecture of the applications/systems developed and deployed.
· You are expected to use appropriate patterns, best practices and the SOLID principles in your work.
· You will be expected to write automated unit tests providing sufficient coverage to be submitted with new code as well as regression tests for defects addressed. You should feel comfortable both having your code reviewed and also reviewing and providing constructive feedback regarding the code of others.

Desired profile

Required Skills:

·  Experienced in European Cash Market Structure: worked in Equity Front Office technology teams at another tier 1 bank.
·  Strong overall technologist with experience in various development languages and Operating systems, with the emphasis on C#/WPF and the .NET stack in general.
·  Good understanding of the Linux environment.
·  Strong interpersonal skills to manage the business face-off aspect of the role, facing off to the Equity Cash Trading desk in London.
