The Microsoft Learning Experiences (LEX) Content team is looking for a skilled and passionate software developer and trainer to create online courses for our developer portfolio. We’re looking for someone who has a proven track record developing public-facing or enterprise class software applications on the Microsoft platform, who has a passion for outreach and evangelism, and who is actively working on building a following as a trainer, speaker, or blogger.

The ideal candidate has a passion for learning and teaching others. A deep understanding of computer science and experience in one or more application platform technologies (Visual Studio, Windows apps, Microsoft Azure). You should have the ability to stay current and relevant as technologies morph and evolve is key to success in this role. You’ll manage the content deliverables from start to finish while making decisions about the development model, the funding model, and you’ll manage the product development schedule from concept all the way through final product release.

Across our four major product lines-courseware, certification, books and digital learning-we deliver technical readiness solutions for products from every Microsoft division to customers, while returning millions of dollars in profit back to Microsoft.

Primary roles and responsibilities of this position:

•      Design, manage, author and publish the highest quality learning experiences for the developer

•      audience.

•      Work with MS Product Groups to create, refine and align the learning experience with product cycles.

•      Evangelize through training, presenting and blogging.

Knowledge / Experience / Abilities:

•      Deep understanding of and interaction with the software developer audience

•      Technical training, instructional design, and/or certification knowledge or experience highly valued.

•      Ability to present/evangelize both on and off camera about the content you produce.

Job Qualifications

•      At least 1-2 years working as a software developer in either a corporate software development environment or developing a released app in an app store.

•      At least 3 years experience as a presenter, trainer, and educator, and you are not shy in front of a camera.

•      At least 2 years technical experience with Microsoft developer technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure, developer tools, and SQL Server.

•      A degree in Education and/or a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience are preferred.
