Come join Bing, in the Artificial Intelligence and Research Group, where we are reimagining the way people see and interact with search experiences. We’re on a mission to reset expectations about how search looks, acts, and sounds. To deliver it wherever people need it. And to support them as they strive to know more, do more, and be more. As a Design Researcher, you will be part of a team of researchers that makes up a studio of designers, prototypers and content programmers. You will work daily with the studio, as well as developers, program managers and marketers. Your role is to deeply understand people’s needs and behaviors and shape the user experience of Bing. Skills broad range of UX research methodologies, both qual and quant based. Ethnographic and longitudinal research projects. Strategic, yet applied thinking. Excellent presentation skills, particularly across different disciplines. Agile and creative, thriving in a fast-paced environment. Self-starting with natural ability to identify what’s next.  

Roles & Responsibilities: Know Search customers inside out by understanding their needs, behaviors and scenarios. Identify design issues and opportunities based on primary and secondary research. Be an expert and advisor on the user experience and design of Bing and the industry. Drive insights effectively through the software development process, partnering with other disciplines. Demonstrate strong work practices and meaningful business impact.  

Experience & Qualifications: 1-2 years of prior experience working as a design ux researcher. Preferably with a focus on web-based products and applications. Experience generating research plans, defining and tracking user experience goals, coordinating multiple projects. Thorough knowledge of the field of human-computer interaction, experimental design, observational methods and data analysis. MA/MS or Ph.D. in Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, or related field.
