Software Engineer

Bing Maps and Local is all about places.   We help people explore new places, remember favorite haunts, interact with local businesses and organizations, and get them where they’re going.  

Team members working on Maps are responsible for:

• Making sense of a huge volume of geographic and geopolitical data to build the underlying maps that are used across Microsoft and licensed to 3rd parties

• Combining real-time and historical transit and traffic information with world-class routing algorithms to create routes for people

• Creating native and web map controls to access and render our maps for various online and offline 1st and 3rd party experiences

Knowledgeable about (or be excited to learn about): working with data at scale, machine learning, probabilistic and statistical concepts, systems engineering

Desired profile

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science or related technical field; PhD a plus

• 3 + years of   C/C++/C#

• 3+ years of software engineering experience
