Do you want to help us ship the best graphics experience for our next Office? The Office Graphics (GFX) team has a very exciting open position for you to join. Our team builds the graphics engine that powers Microsoft Office in its diverse platforms. Our work is the foundation for all the key office applications such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel and it is used by hundreds of millions of customers throughout the world in platforms such as Windows, Android, iOS, and others.  

As a member of this team you will be responsible for design and implementation of graphical technologies used to enable the rich integration and interaction that will delight Microsoft customers across multiple platforms and form factors.  

The responsibilities for the job will include designing and implementing all parts of the graphics stack such as rendering, input, load and save, inking, UI, engineering, telemetry, among others.   As a team member, you will help to enable the rich integration and interaction that will delight Microsoft customers in all diverse platforms that we ship.   Engineers are also expected to work from design to release, having the ability to deliver reliable and high quality software so validation and good engineering practices are very important parts of this job.   We are looking for a motivated, outstanding engineer that has a strong passion for problem solving.   The job description is for L60 but we can accommodate other levels if the person has what it takes to ship this product.  

Qualifications for this position include:

• 2+ years of software development experience in C++ (C# is a plus)

• BS/BA in computer science, or equivalent in related technical experience Strong design and implementation skills

• Ability to work on a large codebase and willing to take on a wide variety of challenges

• Good knowledge of graphics is a plus Experience with XAML/WPF/MVVM, Test Driven Development and Agile approaches are desired but not required
