The Customs Officer is responsible for the execution of the customs process in the EU MK DC, in cooperation with the other members of the Customs team. He or she is responsible for the generation of the required documents for the Inbound and Outbound process, in daily contact with the DC, Logistics and Customer services teams, and will work according to agreed performance KPI.

Daily execution of customs processes:

·  Maintain bonded DC administration in DM system
·  Classify goods to tariff codes
·  Generate Inbound required documents
·  Release inbound shipments
·  Generate Outbound required documents
·  Manage CITES permits
·  Organize necessary certifications through external institute like Chamber of commerce, Embassy, Consulate
·  Operate accordingly the MK AEO procedures
·  Monitors focused progress of customs activities
·  Taking corrective actions where needed in cooperation with the team
·  Identifies risks on customs matters and reports these to the Manager Customs Compliance EMEA
·  Work together with operational departments (including Customer Service) for a best in class service with regards to customs formalities
·  Coordinates the operational planning of  the customs execution
·  Keeps record of the customs formalities

Skills and abilities:

·  Customs education ‘Vakopleiding Declarant’ of the EVO or an equivalent Customs education
·  MBO/HBO working- and thinking level
·  Fulltime available
·  English speaking & writing at high level
·  Experienced MS Office
·  Knowledge of WM Systems
·  More than 3 years customs clearance experience & customs clearance execution
·  Knowledge of forwarding, transportation and logistics
·  Extensive knowledge of DM Systems
·  Base knowledge of AEO
·  Social skills for maintaining internal and external contacts
