Joining Météo France means joining a multi-site organization, located in France, overseas, etc. Météo-France is organized into central and inter-regional divisions. Below is a presentation of the department you could join :
The Directorate of Higher Education and Research brings together Météo-France's research entities (mainly CNRM, SAFIRE andLACy), the National School of Meteorology, and shared administrative and IT support services. The CNRM is a Joint Research Unit (UMR 3589) under the dual supervision of Météo-France and the CNRS. It conducts research in meteorology and climate, covering the observation and modelling of processes, and the development of weather forecasting and climate projection systems that can be transferred to Météo-France's operational services. The Experimental and Instrumental Meteorology Group (GMEI) develops, implements and operates experimental measurement tools to improve knowledge and develop numerical weather prediction systems.at improving knowledge and developing numerical weather prediction systems.
The AERONEF team develops, implements and operates ground-based and airborne measurement tools designed to characterise atmospheric meteorological parameters, aerosol properties and fire characteristics. The team operates two types of multi-instrumented aircraft that enable observations to be made at different spatial scales in inaccessible environments: multicopters and fixed-wing drones, as well as research aircraft operated by SAFIRE.

The EUBURN, BACCOPA and PRAMAG projects are united by the common goal of deepening our understanding of the interactions between the atmosphere and continental and oceanic surfaces. This will be achieved by acquiring new airborne observation data in 2026 using aircraft and drones.

More specifically:
* EUBURN is a European research programme comprising a series of projects aimed at improving our understanding of, and ability to prevent, predict and monitor, the risks associated with wildfires in southern Europe
* BACCOPA is a national research project studying the impact of forest and vegetation fire aerosols emitted in tropical Africa on the region's radiation balance, cloud properties, deep convection and precipitation.
* PRAMAG is a national research project aimed at improving our understanding of wind profiles at the sea surface by studying air-sea interface processes.

As part of airborne measurement campaigns, and to support the development of airborne payloads, we are looking for an engineer who can work on the electronic development cycle:
- Analysis of electronic development requirements;
- Troubleshooting and repair of electronic faults;
- Developing, adapting and validating sensors (designing electronic boards, soldering and wiring);
- testing and repairing the electronic components of faulty sensors.
- Participating in the integration and testing of onboard payloads.
- Participating in measurement campaigns to ensure the proper functioning of sensors
