Poste et missions:
In the area of vaccines, a significant portion of BI's activity occurs at facilities in Lyon, France and in Athens and Gainesville, Georgia, USA. The VIE will assist in furthering the development of the support of Gainesville teams as well as the Barceloneta (Puerto Rico) site, in developing the support of lifecycle management (optimizing Statistical Process Control (SPC) for antigen production and filling machines, analyzing master reference monitoring data) and in providing training courses in Statistics.
The VIE will be under the responsibility of the Athens/Gainesville non-clinical statistician, based in Athens, Georgia. He is part of a non-clinical statistics group, centered in Lyon, France, and supports all of the Athens/Gainesville site R&D and Industrial Operations activities, with the exception of clinical studies.
The VIE will receive an initial training on the statistical methods and procedures relevant to the activities they will support. Some of these methods include, but are not limited to, analysis of variance, linear regression, non-linear regression, equivalence tests, statistical process control (SPC), and design of experiments (DOE).
After this training, the VIE person will be expected to perform the following core duties during the duration of their term:
- provide statistical input during scientific protocol development,
- conduct face-to-face meetings with the customer to plan an appropriate study design prior to collection of data,
- analyze data and author the associated technical report,
- and review the technical report with the customer for further explanation as necessary.
In addition, the VIE will be provided the opportunity to observe activities in the R&D, Quality Control, and Industrial Operations laboratories as a way to better understand the development and production of animal health products and how the statistical methods we use relate to this context.
Profil:
Master degree in Statistics
Experience in the industrial application of statistics would be highly beneficial as would application of statistics in a R&D setting
Can quickly become autonomous
Passion to learn quickly
Comfortable working in a highly interactive and dynamic team setting and with speaking to an audience
