Director Data Governance (all genders)

Your Role: The Data Solution Owner (DSO) is a highly collaborative role providing leadership for the CFO area data governance and data strategy, driving ownership, standardization, consistency and quality in our data and thereby enables the transformation into a data driven organization that maximizes operational success by analytics insights.

You will provide thought leadership, develop and translate strategy into a multiple year roadmap with a focus on strategic management of the data governance and strategy of the CFO Area. Collaboration with the Business Sectors and the CEO Area are a key factor to success. As basis for a sustainable translation of the strategy you will establish and communicate a clear vision for the standardization and harmonization as well as the roles & responsibilities of the data sets. You will anticipate needs for analytics, identify resources; assess and prioritize use cases in close collaboration with the Swarm – our agile project delivery organization. Based on your “Can-do-attitude” you will identify gaps in data governance and ownership improvement opportunities and champion a culture of continuous improvement together with your stakeholders MBS, IT and data consumers. Based on your strong relationships throughout the organization, you will secure the implementation of a data governance model and related processes and routines. You will prepare and participate in the Data Governance board. In conjunction with Data Owners you will define and monitor strategic quality KPI's. In addition, you will contribute to the design and execution of (self-service) analytics strategy to empower users to seek and secure answers from a widely sourced and well-maintained enterprise data set.

 

Who you are:

·  Master’s degree (or equivalent), ideally in either IT, Finance or Business Administration
·  5 years of experience in data governance and management in the finance context of ERP systems
·  2-3 years working experience in international teams demonstrating success in cross-functional positions
·  Demonstrated success in projects and initiatives aimed at implementing customer-oriented and measurable data and process improvements
·  Strong overall data management and finance data and process knowledge as well as Data Excellence skills (e.g. data quality evaluation and process improvements, data mining and data lineage)
·  Ability to develop practices collaboratively with Business Stakeholders and key functions such as IT security and the Data Privacy Office
·  Ability to bridge data governance, meta data management and master data management requirement to pave the way to analytics
·  Understands innovative process and data technologies
·  Customer-oriented, pragmatic problem-solving and tech-savvy mindset with a strong outcome focus and an attention to detail
·  Fluent in English, German language skills are a plus
