Job description
Main Purpose:
As the Product Manager you will be responsible for peripheral & endoVenous portfolio’s in one of Medtronic’s fastest growing business units.
· Develop and implement business / marketing plans including strategies for product marketing, therapy development and market development activities and manage budgets to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
· Work with the Business Unit Manager, Marketing Manager, Regional Sales Managers and TM’s to implement plans to drive Medtronic’s market share and market penetration including product launches;
· To function as the technical, clinical and marketing specialist and to be the expert reference for the specified product ranges;
· Ensure that the Company’s agreed quality standards (including ISO13485) are maintained with regard to its products, procedures, policies, operations and customer contact
Key Accountabilities:
· Direct the marketing activities for the achievement of short-term and long-term business objectives, including revenue, profit and market development/penetration growth targets.
· Develop marketing strategies, within context of the overall SBU Strategy, addressing issues such as: entry; distribution; product/model/indication mix; market and account segmentation.
· Work proactively and directly with the salespeople to identify account specific marketing needs to achieve account development objectives.
· Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to extend and develop the company’s customer and profit base
· Form relationships with current and future Key Opinion Leaders for each Therapy in the portfolio to enhance understanding of customer requirements and market potential.
· Leverage skills, therapy understanding and belief in market development concepts and opportunities through the sales force using effective coaching techniques.
· Analyze market trends and sales potential in the market
· Ensure product registration efficiency is maximized and compliance with TGA requirements are achieved
· May serve as technical adviser, demonstrating products and troubleshooting product issues.
· Evaluate the effectiveness of promotion and advertising programs and make recommendations for improvements
· Direct/manage training and education programs that support the respective business marketing strategies.
· Prepare and deliver presentations to and negotiations with prospective and current customers to achieve growth objectives
· Ensure product registration efficiency is maximised and compliance with TGA requirements is achieved.
· Launch new devices, line-extensions and therapies/indications, with appropriate emphasis, utilizing a plan that incorporates: positioning, product, pricing and promotion.
· Identify current and future market needs and understand direct and indirect competition.
· Develop a reimbursement strategy, together with the Health Outcomes & Reimbursement Manager, for each therapy.
· Optimize marketing by planning and running market awareness campaigns and promotional activities, integrating market analysis and research.
· Maintain necessary contact with US business unit personnel, patient groups, industry associations and government representatives to achieve the business objectives.
· Manage expenses within marketing budget, maximising effectiveness and efficiency.
· Manage the performance of direct reports, providing feedback, counsel and advice regarding continual performance expectations and ensuring commitment to their ongoing development.
· Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with the relevant Occupational Heath and Safety (OH&S) legislation.
· Work within and actively promote Medtronic’s core mission, corporate strategies, policies, procedures and Code of Conduct.
· Identify, assess, prioritise and control risks to the health and safety of staff and visitors arising from the operation of the division/unit/department.
· Ensure a safe system of work that is without risk to health is developed, documented and followed by staff through appropriate training, supervision and monitoring.
· Observe all health and safety policies and procedures and take all reasonable care that actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others.
· Work within and actively promote Medtronic’s Mission, corporate strategies, policies, procedures and Code of Conduct.
· Comply with Medtronic’s Finance and Legal policies and procedures, respond to both Internal and External Audit enquiries in a timely manner, and ensure follow-up on Action Items to address Audit recommendations.
