The primary job focus of the Summer Associate will be to compile and analyze financial information, research and document tax filing positions, and perform various tax-related projects to assist in the completion of Medtronic’s tax returns. Most projects will involve the use of Excel and CorpTax tax preparation software. Training for the software will be provided. The Summer Associate position is located at the World Headquarters facility in Fridley, Minnesota.

Position Responsibilities

· Preparation of federal tax returns and other projects, including charitable contribution calculations, lobbying expense analysis, capitalized interest calculation and domestic manufacturing deduction
· Preparation of international tax returns (Form 5471)
· Preparation of state income tax returns and other projects, such as compilation of state apportionment
· Sales & Use Tax audit support and product review project
· Transfer Pricing and other profitability analysis support

Desired profile

Basic Qualifications

Pursuing a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
GPA of 3.25 or above
Specialized Knowledge Required: MS Excel
Eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis

· Able to work with various people that have different management styles, however the Summer Associate will report to one Tax Manager,

· Willing to participate in a work group that takes a team-oriented approach to completing a large project.
