MSC UK prides itself on being the 'Employer of Choice’ within the shipping industry and we are looking to recruit a Container Control Clerk to join the busy team in our head office in Ipswich. The Successful candidate will ensure all aspects of container movements and stock control are recorded promptly and accurately. The successful candidate will maintain lines of contact between the Dept and other internal and external suppliers, depots and customers. To prepare reports as required by MSC Geneva, Medlog Antwerp and internally within MSC UK. Providing cover relating to damage and dunnage recovery, training will be given in any other related functions as and when required.

We believe the successful Container Control Clerk should have the following skills:

• Minimum 1 year's shipping experience.
• Must maintain high level of accuracy/attention to detail.
• Excellent telephone manner.
• Time management / prioritise tasks.
• Excellent team player.
• Flexible attitude to an often demanding role.
• Experience in Excel/Destin8.

The Key tasks for the Container Control Clerk role are:

• Accurate and prompt validating / input of container control data.
• Reconciliation of depot / quay stock / status.
• Communicate with inland depots on daily basis regarding container-related matters.
• Issue and reconcile depot equipment releases via internal / external systems.
• Process and records container repair estimates / authorisations.
• Check and invoice all recoverable costs in line with management guidelines.
• Accurately & timely preparation of daily/monthly reports as required by MSC Geneva.
• Prompt and accurate updating of EDI events.
• To provide cover relating to damaged/dunnage recovery, maximising same.
