OVERVIEW:

The purpose of the role is to ensure that North American Business Unit effectively meets standards of quality, safety and legality in line with the Mars Quality Management Process Framework. The role drives continuous improvement of existing Q&FS related business processes and develops and deploys new Corporate and Segment standards.

To start, this role will be heavily focused on ensuring the North American Business Unit Quality Management Program is compliant to Mars Standards.  As the BU QMP is stabilized, the role will begin to split its focus among several programs Material Quality Management, Premia, and External Manufacturing Quality Management.

Key Responsibilities (or Principle Accountabilities):

·  NA Business Unit Internal Audit Program Owner including training of auditors, ensuring adherence to the schedule, and determine the need for Corrective Actions and/or Corrections
·  NA Business Unit CAPA Program Owner including training of CAPA owners, assigning CAPA owners, and ensuring timely completion of owners
·  NA Business Unit Document Control Program Owner including maintaining documents that are up to date and are aligned with Corporate and Segment Q&FS requirements
·  NA Business Unit Record Control Program Owner including the maintain the current records and record storage locations
·  Communicate changes to the Corporate Q&FS Standards and Segment Q&FS Requirements throughout the NA Business Unit including the Manufacturing Sites and coordinate the BU’s response to these changes
·  Establish the BU Q&FS Competency requirements for all roles, provide training and/or training materials, and establish a protocol for maintaining records
·  Participate in the Risk Assessment process for External Manufacturing Processes to meet the requirements of the External Manufacturing Quality Management Standard
·  Participate in Material, Packaging, and PREMIA Risk Assessment processes to the meet the requirements of the Material Quality Management, Packaging Material Management, and PREMIA

·  Internal Audit Schedule and Assignments
·  Corrective Action Owners

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

·  Bachelor’s of Science Degree in a Food Science, Engineering, or Similar Field
·  1+ years experience working in Quality/Food Safety organization for a CPG Company including experience working with Internal Audit and Corrective Action Programs
·  Effective written and oral communication; ability to engage all levels of associates and ability to work effectively with a team.
·  Computer skills including Quality systems (Nexus, LRQA), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
·  Ability to travel 10% of the time

 

Preferred:

·  Certified Lead Auditor for FSSC 22002
·  Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety
