Job Summary

Operators are system experts in their assigned area, and are highly functional in multiple areas. Operators must also ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. Operators function as a member of an area team which is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. They operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area in the prescribed amount of time. Operators must have the skill set to perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed. This job requires Strong

Communication, Interpersonal and Team Building skills to support site objectives.

Key Accountabilities

·  Responsible for the operation of process and/or packaging equipment to complete the conversion process and package finished product prior to shipping in accordance with all SOPs and specifications.
·  Efficient and effective operation of all process and/or packaging equipment to exceed schedule
·  Perform all area changeovers and continuous improvement activities in area
·  Intermediate to complex troubleshooting
·  Complete all area transactions in MRP system and trouble shoot inventory issues as required
·  Perform all quality checks as defined in SOPs and be able to adjust equipment to optimize product quality; maintain area GMP’s
·  Train back-ups and new associates & cross train in process and/or packaging
·  Complete all PM work orders as and enter corrective work order requests into the MIS
·  Active participation in the Safety program as it applies to the Process/Packaging Area, including area audits and conformance to all area LOTO and safety procedures
·  Responsible for following all Quality and Food Safety Policies and applicable procedures

Key Technical Knowledge and Skills

·  Minimum Secondary School diploma
·  Mechanical aptitude
·  Minimum Intermediate troubleshooting skills
·  Proven ability to optimize equipment to meet or exceed product specifications, schedule, and planned rates
·  Strong technical problem solving skills
·  Knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management systems & procedures
·  Knowledge of food safety, GMP, ISO, HACCP, SPC

Critical Learning Experiences

·  5-10 years of manufacturing experience operating complex high-speed packaging and/or process equipment
·  Experience with quality systems and SPC
·  Demonstrated ability to continuously improve an area/equipment operation

Quality and Food Safety

Utilizing knowledge of Q/FS systems. The associate ensures Food Safety requirements are effectively performed. This includes training of other associates on the Food Safety & Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), ensuring CCP monitoring is in effect and continuous improvement of the process with any changes to our working environment is practiced.
