Maintenance Planner

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Maintenance Planner role within the Birstall factory. Reporting to the site Reliability manager and an integral part of the maintenance team, the role will be responsible for planning all maintenance activities across either packing or process/IS assets. They will align with the site maintenance strategy to help drive maintenance compliance and help deliver asset availability.

The Maintenance Planner has the responsibility and accountability for making sure we complete and improve all maintenance tasks and fully utilise our resource working alongside other planning departments. This role requires close coordination with the maintenance technicians and reliability managers to ensure we utilise all our technical resource time to focus on maintaining, improving and delivering asset availability.

What are we looking for?

·  Strong engineering background including completion of a recognised apprenticeship.
·  Desirable HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering;
·  Experience in FMCG environment
·  Computer Literate (SAP / Word / Excel)
·  Experience developing & managing planning systems
·  Competences; Problem solving, action oriented, decision quality, managing and measuring work, priority setting, motivating others, customer focus, good communication skills, self-managing

What would your key responsibilities be:

·  Drive planning & Scheduling skills and associate behaviours within manufacturing teams to achieve improvements in plant reliability and associate efficiency.
·  To be a member of days reliability team, providing technical leadership for day to day running of the factory, standard meetings, mentor and support for line associates.
·  Prepare repeating PPM job plans in the role of Planner
·  As required enter PPM data and update the CMMS system
·  When vital set up the PPM routines on repeating calendars in the CMMS
·  Confirm all work is completed inline with the company Safe Systems of Work, Health and Safety at work act, and report any Health, safety and environment issues via the appropriate escalation process
·  Issue Permits to work when required adopting a lead role to ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner.
