The Finance Manager – Governance and Controls supports governance and internal control globally to promote a highly ethical and trusted control environment and tone at the top, support the business in mitigating risk, partner with Mars Corporate, business units and MGS (shared services) to standardize processes, accounting and internal controls, and support the segment in financial system and capabilities transformational initiatives.

What are we looking for?

·  5+ years of experience in areas of accounting, auditing, financial processes and internal controls,
·  2+ years of experience in public accounting or internal audit
·  Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley control environment and company governance, control and compliance programs a plus
·  Global experience in large, multinational manufacturing/CPG company a plus
·  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
·  CPA or parts passed a plus

What would be the key responsibilities?

·  Governance and Controls: Promote governance and control globally. Led G&C KPI quarterly reviews with the units. Develop and share best practices for governance and control, including control frameworks for mitigating business risk for large and/or complex transactions and projects. Develop and monitor governance KPIs and trends, such as internal audit reports, external auditor management letter comments, R-25 reporting, etc to bring insights into global risks and recommendations to control the risks.
·  Processes and Controls: Partner with Mars Corporate, business units and MGS (shared service) to support standardization of financial processes and controls, accounting, data and information capture, reporting, etc. to improve the quality and efficiency of financial processes.
·  Technical Accounting Support: Provide intermediate technical accounting support globally for the segment’s business units. Partner with Mars Corporate to escalate expert accounting matters and align recommended accounting conclusions.
·  Financial Audit: Serve as a key contact between MWC and PricewaterhouseCoopers, our external auditors, with responsibility to coordinate and act as the focal point for all activities and communication required for the annual external audit. Ensure that all activities are conducted in an accurate and timely manner consistent with Mars Inc. requirements to facilitate the audit and minimize engagement costs.
·  Corporate Accounting: Lead certain corporate accounting requirements such as accounting for unique transactions, equity transactions, goodwill and intangible assets impairment testing, etc. Lead global balance sheet analysis.
·  Digital: Support development of new controllership digital tools by collaborating with units, creating new ideas centrally, and partnering with Digital Technologies. Build capability in self and team in digital tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Alteryx, as useful.
·  Other: Support segment compliance reporting. Foundation accounting, reporting and audit. Ad hoc, etc
